A photo does not show the whole bike.

An insurance photo estimate is a starting point. An in-person inspection can reveal accident damage that is difficult to see in pictures, along with the parts and labor needed to repair it.

Call 408-250-0900

At AE Kustomz, we inspect your motorcycle, photograph the damage, and prepare an itemized repair estimate. We communicate with your insurance adjuster and submit the documentation for review so you are not left trying to explain the repairs yourself.

If additional accident-related damage is found during an authorized inspection or repair, we document it and submit a supplemental estimate. That is a request to update the original estimate with the additional work. Your insurer reviews it before deciding what is covered.

Already received an estimate or a check? Bring the paperwork with your bike. An initial payment may not account for every repair needed. We can compare the estimate with our findings and discuss the next steps with your adjuster; additional payment depends on your coverage and claim status.

What we handle.

Supplemental estimates for additional accident-related damage we find

Collision repairs, from cosmetic damage to more extensive mechanical work

From estimate to repair

We handle the repair side.

  1. Call before bringing the bike in.

Tell us what happened and share the year, make, model, and claim details. We will discuss scheduling, the inspection needed, and any estimate or disassembly charges before work begins.

  2. We inspect and document the damage.

At the shop, we assess the affected areas, take photos, and prepare a repair estimate. Some damage may only become visible after disassembly, which requires your authorization.

  3. We work with your adjuster.

We submit the estimate, answer repair questions, and coordinate any supplemental estimates. We also discuss insurer payment arrangements, your deductible, and any costs that are not covered.

  4. We complete the authorized repairs.

Once the repair scope and payment arrangements are agreed and you authorize the work, your bike can stay with us for repairs. We complete the agreed work and check the repaired systems before returning it to you.

Service questions.

Do you work with my insurance company?

We work with all major motorcycle insurance companies. Call with your insurer and claim details so we can discuss its estimate requirements and how to coordinate your repair.

Will insurance pay AE Kustomz directly?

We coordinate billing with your insurer and can arrange direct payment to the shop when the claim allows it. Payment may involve you or a lienholder, depending on the policy and how the check is issued. We will discuss the arrangements, your deductible, and any uncovered charges before repairs proceed.

Can you help if I already received an insurance check?

Yes. Bring the original estimate and payment paperwork so we can compare them with the damage on your bike. If additional accident-related repairs are needed, we can submit a supplemental estimate for review. An extra payment is not automatic; ask your adjuster how your claim status and any settlement documents affect further review.

What is a supplemental estimate?

A supplemental estimate documents additional repair work or costs that were not included in the original estimate. For example, disassembly may reveal a damaged bracket behind a fairing. We photograph and document the findings and submit the update to the insurer for review.

Do you handle the entire insurance claim?

You report the incident and open the claim with your insurer. We handle the repair side: damage documentation, estimates, communication with the adjuster, supplements, and billing coordination. Your insurer decides coverage, payment, and whether the motorcycle is a total loss. You authorize the inspection and repairs.

Can I choose AE Kustomz for my motorcycle insurance repair?

Yes. California consumers have the right to choose their repair shop. Tell your adjuster that you would like AE Kustomz to inspect and repair your motorcycle. Choosing a shop does not change your policy's coverage, deductible, or the need to agree on the repair estimate.

Is an insurance damage estimate free?

Call us to discuss the inspection and any estimate or disassembly charges before bringing the bike in. Insurance damage assessments are separate from our free pre-purchase inspection. Whether your insurer covers an inspection charge depends on the claim.

Should I ride a damaged motorcycle to the shop?

If there is any question about its safety, arrange motorcycle transport instead of riding it. A bike that starts can still have damage affecting steering, brakes, wheels, or controls. Call before arranging transport to our Campbell shop. We do not offer pickup, drop-off, or towing.
